NBframe is an innovative aluminum stretcher bar system for professional artists, museums and restorers. Its patented design creates a perfect framework for canvas stretching, free from deformation, twist and warp caused by humidity or dryness. The Nbframe system is available in 3 m profile lengths with separate assembly parts, and as pre-assembled frames in various sizes with back stapled 450 g/m2 linen, all in frame depths of 25 and 45 mm.

Frame absorbs tension
The inner aluminum structure is made of premium grade aluminum and provides for optimal structural integrity and stability. The FSC certified outer wood profile is shaped to smoothly guide the canvas along the flexible edge and allow for easy back stapling of the canvas. The flexible outer wall absorbs excess tension and ensures evenly and consistently stretched canvas.

Corner stretching with optional stretching tool
The frame pieces are mounted together with strong double-plate corner brackets that can be secured into the frame channel to ensure a perfect 90-degree corner and avoid movement. Stretching adjustments to the corner are easy with the optional stretching tool (sold separately) by loosening both the corner bracket’s allen screw and the tool’s wing bolt, sliding the tool into the frame channel, turning and pressing it against the corner bracket, then tightening the tool’s wing bolt and turning the tool to gently press the bracket out. Once optimal tension is reached, tighten the bracket’s allen screw securely and repeat this procedure from the other side of the corner if needed. (Note the UT80 Stretching Tool is not an essential part of the nbframe system as the flexible outer wall absorbs excess tension and ensures evenly stretched canvas under normal circumstances. Only after extended use and/or severe changes in climatic conditions may the tool be used for additional stretching at corner brackets or crossbar adjusters.)

Stretching selected sections with optional stretching blocks
For stretching selected sections of the frame the system provides for optional stretching blocks (sold separately). These blocks slide over the frame and by tightening its wing bolt will press the frames flexible wall outward and stretch the canvas with absolute precision.

Additional stretching and stabilization with optional crossbars
Crossbars are used in frame sizes above 120 cm (47 1/4 in) length and can be placed even after the frame is completely assembled and the canvas is stretched, a unique nbframe feature. Strong crossbar clips are used to snap the bar into place and metal plates allow for custom stretching in the same manner the corners are stretched using the stretching tool. (Note the UT80 Stretching Tool is not an essential part of the nbframe system as the flexible outer wall absorbs excess tension and ensures evenly stretched canvas under normal circumstances. Only after extended use and/or severe changes in climatic conditions may the tool be used for additional stretching at corner brackets or crossbar adjusters.)
